Now, he has revealed additional details about the film by declaring a major statement regarding this film. He has announced that his documentary film would be re-released in theatres.

The filmmaker took to his Instagram to share this update along with the film’s poster. He wrote, “ANNOUNCEMENT: #TheKashmirFiles is re-releasing on 19th January – The Kashmiri Hindu Genocide Day. On the other hand, Bollywood star Anupam Kher also shared the news by uploading the film’s poster and announcing its re-release. In addition, the reason for its re-release has been revealed. He has stated that this movie is being re-released on the 33rd anniversary of the departure of Kashmiri Pandits due to popular demand and urged fans to watch the movie as a tribute to them.

The Kashmir Files was released in theatres last year on March 11, 2022. This film grossed more than Rs 340 crores at the box office despite being made on a very low budget of approximately Rs 20 to 25 crores. This film depicts the migration of Kashmiri Hindus in 1990. In addition, the narrative of their massacre has been presented. Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi play key roles.
