Karan Johar’s remake of Nani-starrer Jersey with Shahid Kapoor in Bollywood

JerseyAfter the immense success of Kabir Singh that came out as the remake of south Indian film, Arjun Reddy starring Shahid Kapoor, news is flashing up as Karan Johar decides on the remake of Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor, once again.

Sources have been buzzing on the news that Bollywood’s top filmmaker Karan Johar has bagged the rights for the film and is planning to rope in the top stars including Shahid. Emerging reports have further revealed that Karan is planning to approach Kabir Singh’s star Shahid Kapoor for the remake of Jersey.

Actor Nani bagged a smashing hit in his career with his recent release of Jersey which was a sports drama. The film was directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri in which Nani played as a cricketer who gives up the sport due to an unfortunate incident that took place in his life but, wishes to make a comeback, soon. The film depicts his journey about how he shapes up and his uncompromised family support that stays with him throughout his tough phase of his life. Speculations are pretty high that Jersey may be remade in Bollywood soon and with Karan Johar getting the rights of the film, things are more confirming. However, nothing concrete has yet come out and thus; these remain to just be mere speculations until an official confirmation from the filmmaker comes up.

Jersey also stars popular Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath and has marked her debut in Telugu cinema. The U Turn actress has made a stunning debut in Tollywood and left the audiences stunned with her character in the film.

Jersey is produced by Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and its music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film has Nani playing a cricketer in a sporting rugged look, playing his intense role for the film.

Jersey was released in April this year and has done an amazing collection at the box office. During its theatrical run, Jersey earned a gross collection of approximately Rs 38 crore at the box office, good enough to categorizing it as a phenomenal hit.
