Producer REACTS to rumours around Akshay Kumar’s Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru’s title
Akshay Kumar has announced his next project which is an official Hindi remake of Suriya’s well-known film Soorarai Pottru. Akshay will co-star in the film with Radhika Madan, as the actor made the announcement on social media.
While the project has already gone on the floors, the title of the Hindi remake has yet to be announced. Over the weekend, rumours circulated that Akshay and Radhika’s upcoming film would be titled Startup.
While the lead actors have yet to respond to the rumours. Vikram Malhotra who is the Hindi remake producer, has reacted to it. In an interview with ETimes, he denied the film’s rumoured title. When asked if the film’s title is Startup, he replied, “No title confirmed yet.” According to sources, the film’s title will be different, and an appropriate title is currently being worked out.
Suriya welcomed Akshay Kumar on board when the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru was announced in April. Suriya announced the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru with Akshay Kumar and Radhika Mandan on Twitter. Suriya’s debut as a producer in the Hindi market will be with this film, which he will finance through his production company 2D Entertainments.
Meanwhile, Akshay shared a glimpse from his set and wrote, “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it. In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes.” The Hindi remake will also be directed by Sudha Kongara who helmed the original film.
