After 15 years together, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao split up last year. Following the divorce announcement, rumours began to circulate on social media that the ‘Ghajini’ actor had divorced due to an apparent relationship with someone else.
Aamir Khan recently discussed his divorce during a conversation. He stated that Kiran had nothing to do with his divorce from his first wife, Reena Dutta. He went on to say that when he divorced Reena, he had no one in his life. He claimed that despite knowing Kiran, they only became friends much later.
When asked if his divorce from Kiran was owing to a new relationship, the actor told News 18 that there was no one then, and there is no one today.
In July 2021, Aamir and Kiran said in a joint statement, ”In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love. Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives – no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other. We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir Khan will be next seen in his much-awaited upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha where he will be seen sharing screen space with Kareena Kapoor Khan.
