Deepika Padukone Opted out Pradeep Sarkar’s biopic on Bengali courtesan
With a decent response to her recently released film Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone was also the part of yet another biopic based on the life of a Bengali courtesan-turned-theatre actress-singer called Binodini Dasi popular as Nati Binodini in the 19th century. She ruled the Calcutta stage of her age and also been the famous artist of her time. She founded the theatre group called Star Theatre with play writer Girish Chandra Ghosh.
It was Pradeep the popular filmmaker from the regional cinema who is making the film and he has approached the leggy lass for the film. However, after checking the details of the film, she turned down the offer calling it to be a very serious film. The filmmaker then has approached Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who seems to be positive about this venture. If she signs the dotted line, this will be her next movie in Tinsel Town. However, for Deepika, it will be the sports drama 83 where she would be soon seen this year with hubby Ranveer Singh.
She is also part of Shakun Batra’s romantic drama film along with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey. As per reports, Deepika now wants to break the monotony of appearing only in an emotional drama movie especially after giving a serious kind of film like Chhapaak. Now, she is interested in doing comedy-centric or rom-com projects. It was a serious film and Deepika now wants something like that makes her turn down this movie. She is now gearing up for her next film 83 with Ranveer Singh. She is playing Mrs. Kapil Dev, while the skipper’s role in played by her hubby.
