Rocky Handsome despite being fortunate enough to get a solo release failed to perform better over the box office. The debut venture of John Abraham seemed to have suffered in different ways despite the fact it managed to get a decent reviews especially for the action he has showcased in this film. Thanks to the World Cup T20 Matches which seemed to have ruined the film releasing on this day. Also, let’s not forget the release of the Hollywood film called Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which released on the same day and managed to do the damage.
As per reports, the first week Box Office report tolled to around 23.00 crores. The Karan Johar film Kapoor and Sons Since 1921 too came in its way doing a decent business giving tough competition to Rocky Handsome. The film only benefited on the first day of its release on the backdrop of the holiday of Goods Friday but the rest of days, the film suffered a lot. During the weekdays, the film only managed to get merely eight crores, which is not expected much from the film that was promoted being an action flick giving John Abraham a new look.
With such a low figure, most of the experts and trade pundits are seen saying in chorus that considers this amount to be its lifetime collection for the film. Yet they are terming the film to be an average grocer rather than a flop movie since half of the investment is being retrieved with things like selling off the satellite rights. Now with the advent of R Balki’s movie – Ki and Ka hitting this Friday one cannot expect much of the collection this week.
