Samantha Akkineni was last seen in Manoj Bajpayee starrer critically acclaimed show The Family Man session 2 on Amazon Prime Video. The show gained a lot of appreciation for her acting in the series. The show which has an 8.8 IMDB rating is getting bigger day by day. While there were reports that Samantha Akkineni will be seen in another web series after The Family Man. however, it turned out to be a hoax and the reports are said to be baseless. Apart from Samantha and Manoj, the show also features Priyamani, Mime Gopi, Azhagam Perumal and Uday Mahesh in important roles.
Hollywood Hungama quoted a source very close to the actress as saying, “Right now she is off the media and just chilling at home with her husband Nag Chaitanya and his family. There are no plans of doing another web series anytime in the near future. Sam agreed to doing The Family Man because of co-directors Raj Nidimoru and DK’s persuasive powers and because she had wanted to play the bad girl for the longest.”
Samantha Akkineni will next be seen in two Tamil feature films Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal where she co-stars with Vijay Sethupathi and Shaakuntalam where she plays the mythological Shakuntala.
Shakuntalam will be directed by Gunashekhar, who is primarily known for the 1996 children’s Telugu-language mythological film Ramayanam. While Kathuvakula Rendu Kaadhal will be directed by Vignesh Shivan.
Talking about another web series the source added, “Not for a while, and then only if it’s something as challenging as The Family Man”.
