Swara Bhaskar on Love Jihad Debate Holding Government Accountable for the Hatred
Swara Bhaskar has remained vocal on various issues and she is back in the news defying another controversy surrounding the hatred issue. The issue of Love Jihad has often remained in the midst of the controversy and we saw the Tanishq people taking back their secular ad as the fringe elements made an issue. Now, we see Swara talking about the same slamming people who are making a controversy of the same.
She was seen as being the part of a panel discussion on a leading news channel where one can see her airing her views on the cross-communal marriages are now being forbidden by law in the coming times in the states like the MP. This brought too many liberals airing their views and Swara was one of them to protest about it. With the debate she also slammed one food delivery app to entertain the demand of the customer about sending a man of their choice.
She was seen slamming the leniency of the app and shared the tweets as under, which was followed by someone defending the love jihad thing and then how she reacted on it:
Let us assume for a moment that Love Jihad is real & needs fixing. Why can’t you prosecute using Section 366 (forced marriage), Section 415 (cheating), Section 340 (forcible confinement) & Section 383 (extortion)? Section 366 -> 10 years in prison. Why do you want a new law?

To whip up a communal frenzy..
To have some more lies to spread during election campaigns..
To criminalise young Muslim men..
To control Hindu women and their fierce desire..
To deepen fault lines between communities..
To create false enemies & whip up mass hatred toward them..
