Today is the birth anniversary of Bollywood-famous choreographer Saroj Khan. At the age of 71, in the year 2020, this talent said goodbye to the world. Saroj has performed such dance moves in the industry that he has won the hearts of his fans. Many great Bollywood actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Aishwarya Rai, and Preity Zinta have become sensations today for their dancing, but no one can deny that the artist behind them is Saroj ji. All the actresses consider her their guru and remember her even today.

On November 22, 1948, Saroj Khan was born. After entering the film world, she started working as a background dancer. She was interested in dance from the beginning, and she used to catch dance steps very quickly. Over 3000 songs have been choreographed by Saroj Ji.

Saroj Khan’s father changed her name to

Saroj’s original name was Nirmala Nagpal. Before working in the film, her father had kept her name as Saroj Khan. And the reason behind this was that the old-fashioned family and society could not know the truth about their younger daughter working in films. Earlier, it was not considered respectable for women to work in films.

Saroj entered the industry at a time when she was the absolute main lead, but Saroj not only achieved success for herself but also paved the way for other women choreographers.

Saroj Khan Got cheated on first marriage:

Despite achieving new heights in her professional life as a dancer and choreographer, her personal life was full of difficulties. The pain of a failed marriage also came into her life. But she never let her personal life affect her professional life.

Saroj got married at the age of 13 to her 41-year-old guru, Sohan Lal, but how did the dancer know that the one she loved would become her sorrow? Sohan Lal was already married and had four children; Saroj was quite broken by this.

Used to dance by seeing the shadow

It is said that if you have the passion to do something, then you can achieve it. Something similar was Saroj’s firm belief. Her passion for dance was amazing; she used to dance by seeing her shadow. Seeing such an act from her, the mother thought that the daughter had some mental problem, so she took her to the doctor. The doctor then told the mother that she only wanted to dance and to let her dance. And that’s why she is Bollywood’s No. 1 choreographer.
