Farah Khan treated Deepika Padukone like a daughter on set.

The 29-year-old actress revealed that the compassionate ‘Om Shanti Om’ director would constantly check up on her and “protected” her during filming for the 2007 smash-hit movie that was her first ever Bollywood blockbuster.

Deepika shared: “The first time we worked together was in 2007. I was facing the camera for the first time so she was very protective about me. Every time she would ask me – ‘Baby have you eaten? Baby are you ok?’ So I am her first baby.”

And the pair met again on the set ‘Happy New Year’ directed by Farah, 50, who rallied behind the star again because she saw that Deepika, 29, was up against four big names – Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivaan Shah and Sonu Sood – in the movie business.

She told Times of India: “During the shooting of Happy New Year, Farah gave me lots of attention because she knew that I am the only girl against four big actors.”
