‘Lock Upp: Badass Jail Atyaachari Khel,’ a new OTT program from Kangana Ranaut and Ekta Kapoor, is set to premiere soon. The program, which has already made headlines, promises to be an entertaining captive reality show with all the ingredients: interesting challenges, dramatic conflicts, and an eclectic mix of participants to keep viewers riveted to their chairs. While the program is gaining a lot of attention on social media, some people are comparing it to Salman Khan’s famed controversial reality show Bigg Boss.
In a current interview, Ekta Kapoor opened up about her show being compared to Bigg Boss and stated that comparisons are attached to happen. But there is a huge difference between captive reality and original captive reality. Ekta Kapoor told TOI, “All captive realities all over the world get compared with each other and this is a captive reality. It’s like saying did you ever get scared because one soap opera got compared with the other? There’ll be 10 shows, we will see them as same stories. But they have all worked on their differences. There is going to be constant comparison. People will say stuff. But captive reality and original captive reality will also have their differences. Aap dekhiye kitna alag hoga.”
In the meantime, if we talk about the contestants of the lock-up, then 16 controversial personalities will be locked inside the jail and their facilities will be taken away. Contestants will be locked in the jail of the show and they can come out only if they agree to do what, when and how ‘jailer’ Kangana asks them to do. A few popular names that are doing the rounds to appear on the show are Divyanka Tripathi, Hina Khan, Shweta Tiwari, Surbhi Jyoti, Urfi Javed, Aditya Singh Rajput, Mallika Sherawat, Anushka Sen, Avneet Kaur, Shehnaaz Gill, Vir Das, Poonam Pandey, and others.
