Farhan Akhtar is all set to star in another sports drama after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The film titled Toofaan is all set to have a direct-to-digital premiere. The film was supposed to arrive on Amazon Prime Video in May 2021. However, amid the second wave of coronavirus, the makers decided to postpone the release.
Now the makers have announced the brand new release date of the film. The highly anticipated inspiring sports drama featuring Farhan Akhtar will release on July 6. The film is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and ROMP Pictures (Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra).
Farhan and Omprakash Mehra previously ventured for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Based on the life of Milkha Singh the film was a blockbuster.
Talking about Toofaan the story of the film revolves around the life of Ajju who is an orphan born in Mumbai’s Dongri. He grows up to be a local goon. However, everything changes when he meets a bright and compassionate young woman Ananya, who motivates him to find his passion. Later Ajju becomes Aziz Ali, a boxing champion.
