“Adipurush” Creates a Stir in Pan India Advance Booking: Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s Film Sells 3.50 Lakh Tickets in National Chains

The highly anticipated film Adipurush, featuring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, is receiving a remarkable response in its advance booking at national cinema chains in India. As of Wednesday at 3 pm, the film directed by Om Raut and produced by Bhushan Kumar has sold approximately 3.50 lakh tickets for the opening weekend across three major chains: PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. PVR is leading the way with 1.77 lakh tickets, followed by Inox with 1.05 lakh tickets, and Cinepolis with 73,000 tickets.

Adipurush, which has sold 3.50 lakh tickets in these three chains, predominantly sees bookings for the Hindi version. The combined sales at PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis amount to 2.30 lakh tickets for the Hindi version, while the Telugu version has sold 1.20 lakh tickets across these multiplexes. This even distribution of advance bookings bodes well for Adipurush, and with positive word of mouth, the film has the potential to perform exceptionally on Saturday and Sunday, thanks to family support. Though there are some bulk bookings at the national chains, even after discounting them, Adipurush is poised for a strong opening at the box office, particularly outside the metro cities.

The film has garnered significant hype, and now it’s up to Om Raut to deliver on the content front. Adipurush’s opening in Hindi and Telugu is expected to be impressive, and the subsequent momentum will be crucial. Speaking of the opening day sales, Adipurush has already sold 1.25 lakh tickets across the three chains for the first day, while the Telugu version has sold 45,000 tickets. The overall sales for the opening day in these three chains amount to approximately 1.70 lakh tickets. Additionally, a non-national chain like MovieMax has also witnessed impressive advance bookings, with around 5,800 tickets sold for the opening day and around 13,000 tickets for the weekend.

Adipurush is also showing promising bookings in the mass belt, as indicated by the strong advance sales at MovieMax, which caters to a slightly more mass audience in tier 2 and 3 cities. At this stage, Adipurush is expected to open with a collection of over Rs 25 crore in the northern regions, and if the film generates a strong walk-in audience on the day of release, a start of Rs 30 crore is not out of the question. Positive reviews surrounding the film can boost the energy for evening and night shows, potentially surpassing the higher end of expectations.
