Sanjay Dutt will play Alia Bhatt’s father in the sequel to Naam?

Alia-Sajay-Dutt

‘Franchise’ has become such a buzzword in Bollywood that whether it is warranted or not, people feel obliged to take things forward. Although we are pretty psyched about Judwaa 2 since it will have Varun Dhawan in the lead and Salman Khan in a cameo, we don’t know what to make of a Naam sequel. Yes, Mahesh Bhatt’s 1986 movie might have a follow-up with Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt in the lead. And guess what will Dutt play? The actress’ father! Yes, if reports are to be believed, Sanjay Dutt has even given his nod to the project and his role in it. The actor apparently met up with Mahesh Bhatt recently and spoke about it. But from what we had gathered from Pooja Bhatt’s Instagram post, she was looking forward to a Sadak sequel. Her post had a thoughtful Sanjay Dutt looking at a trophy of Sadak which had Golden Jubilee written on it. Check out the post right here.

Talking about Naam, Mahesh Bhatt told TOI earlier, “Even though it was a two-hero project, Rajendra Kumar knew that the audience’s sympathies would eventually swing from Kumar Gaurav’s character Ravi to Sanju’s bad boy Vicky.” It was also Salim Khan’s film in the way that he didn’t have his partner Javed Akhtar with him as they had split by then. Talking about Salim saab, Bhatt had said, “He added box-office sparkle to my offbeat story of two half brothers and turned it into a blockbuster.
