Akshay Kumar Commences Shooting for Karan Johar’s Latest Project, ‘The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair,’ According to Reports

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is currently engrossed in the filming of Karan Johar’s upcoming biopic, “The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair.” The film delves into the remarkable life of C Sankaran Nair, a distinguished lawyer and former President of the Indian National Congress, who fearlessly championed justice and truth. Akshay Kumar steps into the shoes of the revered C Sankaran Nair, while Ananya Panday and R Madhavan add depth to the narrative with their pivotal roles.

Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday have been spotted filming for Karan Johar’s upcoming biopic, “The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair,” at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. Sources close to the production have revealed that this schedule will continue for approximately 20 days, followed by another schedule in Alibag, a coastal town in Maharashtra.

The film chronicles the extraordinary life of C Sankaran Nair, a renowned lawyer and former President of the Indian National Congress, who played a pivotal role in seeking justice for the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Akshay Kumar portrays the revered C Sankaran Nair, while Ananya Panday and R Madhavan contribute to the film’s compelling narrative with their significant roles.

Based on the book “The Case That Shook The Empire” written by Nair’s great-grandson Raghu Palat and his wife Pushpa Palat, the film delves into Nair’s historic legal battle against Michael Francis O’Dwyer, the Lt Governor of Punjab at the time of the massacre. Nair’s relentless pursuit of justice brought O’Dwyer’s atrocities to light and served as a powerful testament to the unwavering spirit of truth and justice.

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is currently immersed in the filming of Karan Johar’s upcoming biopic, “The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair,” marking his return to the big screen after the release of “Mission Raniganj” in October 2023. “Mission Raniganj” chronicled the heroic tale of Jaswant Singh Gill, an IIT Dhanbad mining engineer who selflessly rescued 65 trapped miners in the Raniganj Coalfields disaster of 1989.
