We must be hearing about the epic performance of Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the film based on Bal Thackeray biopic called Thackeray. The recently released trailer bears testimony to this fact. However, as it released in the media, it seemed to have gone into a controversy. Thanks to the offensive remarks it carries about migrants to Mumbai and Maharashtra specifically over the South Indians. The trailer has released this Christmas, and Abhijit Panse directed the film. The first one to object the raise the issue include Actor Siddharth on a dialogue that debased the South Indians.

The dialogue was sarcastic enough to raise the eyebrows. It said “Uthao lungi, bajao pungi” coming straight from the mouth of the Shiv Sena Supremo in the Marathi trailer of the said movie. However, this dialogue was not included in the Hindi trailer of the biopic. The actor was quick to react on the microblogging site and called it to be a hate speech against the South Indians residing in Mumbai and other parts of the state. This slogan remained the part of the Marathi Manoos drive initiated by the Shiv Sena chief. It was launched way back in 1966 that brought forth him and his party in the limelight. The Shiv Sena insisted on giving jobs only to the local people over the migrants from South coming to Bombay.

The Hindi trailer of the film is not reported with the said dialogue. However, it has touched a couple of issues that were initiated by Shiv Sena Supremo. It also showcases the blunt language used by Bal Thackeray. The film also has been asked to make a few changes by the Censor Board before it was released in the media. However, the makers who are from the Shiv Sena camp did not even care to make the required changes. They released the trailer without cutting down the three objectionable issues. Some of the Twitter users also raised the irony as to how a Shiv Sena MP (filmmaker Raut) allowed a North Indian to play the role of Thackeray who remained anti all his life with his hate campaigns.
