Finally Sri Lankan Cricketer Muralitharan Reacts on 800 row
Ever since the film on Sri Lankan Cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan was announced in the media, we could see a storm against the film when Netizens hurled their dislike and resentment against the movie. We could also see shame on Vijay Sethupathi who is going to play the cricketer in the said film. On this row, we could finally see the Sri Lankan Cricketer Muralitharan saying that he is not surprised to see a controversy in it. He said he was hesitant about picking up the film when the makers first approached him.
However, he then thought maybe the film would give him the opportunity to pay tribute to his parents, well-wishers, teachers, coaches and others about his success. When the actor Vijay Sethupathi agreed to play SL spin legend, it did cause a political uproar in the state. The reason was obvious that the cricketer happens to be a supporter of the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who has remained active with the civil war against the country for 30 years. He said he has experienced the agony and pain coming with the war for 30 long years.
He added that despite all the odds, he managed to play cricket and taste the success and the film 800 is all about the same. He said that it is not his fault if he is a Tamil born in Sri Lanka. While talking about the allegation that he does not even know Tamil, he refuted saying that he very well knows the language. Check his long tweet as under:
