Veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, popularly known by his stage name Birbal, has passed away at the age of 84. Birbal was born in Amritsar, Punjab, in 1939. He started his career in theatre and later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in films. He made his film debut in the 1972 film “Pyar Ka Mausam”. He went on to star in over 200 films, including “Amar Akbar Anthony”, “Shaan”, “Mr. India”, and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. He was known for his comic timing and his ability to play a variety of characters. Birbal was also a popular television actor and starred in several shows, including “Khichdi”, “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai”, and “Hum Paanch”. He was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.
In addition to his prolific career in Hindi films, Birbal also acted in Punjabi, Bhojpuri, and Marathi films.
