Renowned Actor Satinder Kumar Khosla , Recognized for Iconic Sholay and Mera Naam Joker Performances is no more

Veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, popularly known by his stage name Birbal, has passed away at the age of 84. The official Twitter handle of Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) confirmed the news. The tweet read, “CINTAA expresses its deepest condolences on the demise of Birbal (Member since 1981). He was a veteran actor and a pillar of the Hindi film industry. Birbal was born in Amritsar, Punjab, in 1939. He started his career in theatre and later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in films. He made his film debut in the 1972 film “Pyar Ka Mausam”. He went on to star in over 200 films, including “Amar Akbar Anthony”, “Shaan”, “Mr. India”, and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. He was known for his comic timing and his ability to play a variety of characters. Birbal was also a popular television actor and starred in several shows, including “Khichdi”, “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai”, and “Hum Paanch”. He was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.

In addition to his prolific career in Hindi films, Birbal also acted in Punjabi, Bhojpuri, and Marathi films. He is best known for his work in Manoj Kumar’s films, including Upkar, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, and Kranti. He also had memorable roles in Sholay and Anurodh. Birbal was a versatile actor who could play a wide range of characters. He was also a master of comic timing, and his performances always brought a smile to the audience’s faces. He will be remembered as one of the most popular and respected actors in Hindi cinema.
