FIR filed against hair stylist Javed Habib for Spitting on woman’s hair during his workshop

Celebrity Hairstylist Javed Habib is in news for his action in the workshop.
His workshop was in Muzzafar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. During Workshop, he spits on a woman’s hair saying that ‘If there is a shortage of water, use your saliva.’ This incident was recorded in the video and went viral. Jawed’s this statement did not go well with certain sections of people. Viewers slam him for his action.

After receiving such amount of criticism from netizens, he apologizes for his action. He shares an apology video on his Instagram handle. In this video he says, such things are often done with a “humourous” intent during workshops but said that he was sincerely sorry if someone had felt hurt. “Some words spoken by me during my seminar have hurt a few people, “I just want to say one thing… these are professional workshops, as in, they are attended by people from within our profession. When these sessions get very long, we have to make them humorous. What can I say? If you are truly hurt, I apologize from the bottom of my heart. Please forgive me, I am sorry.”

A woman whose hair is on Jawed spitted is an owner of a hairdressing parlor herself named Pooja Gupta. She post a reaction to this incident on her own social media channel saying that “Yesterday, I attended a workshop of Jawed Habib. He invited me on the stage to give me a haircut. He said if there is no water, you can use saliva. From now onwards, I will go to my streetside barber for a haircut, but will not go to Habib.”

After this incident, the chairperson of The National Commission for Women (NCW) Rekha Sharma has written to the UP Director General of Police (DGP) seeking legal action against Jawed in this matter.
