Fighter Box Office Day 5: Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone’s Film Witnesses Significant Monday Dip, Earns Rs 126.50 Crore

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s aerial action film, Fighter, experienced a significant downturn in its box office collections on its fifth day, signaling the onset of Monday blues. The film initially garnered Rs 22.50 crore on its first Thursday, followed by Rs 39.50 crore on its first Friday, Rs 27.50 crore on its first Saturday, and Rs 29 crore on its first Sunday. However, initial estimates on the film trading portal Sacnilk suggest that the film’s collections dipped to approximately Rs 8 crore on its first Monday.

As of its first Monday, Fighter’s total India box office collection is estimated to have reached around Rs 126.50 crore. The film recorded an overall 12.70% occupancy across its Hindi shows on Monday, with regions such as Chennai, Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, National Capital Region (NCR), Pune, Kolkata, and Lucknow registering high theatrical occupancies.

Despite its strong performance, Fighter still lags behind Hrithik Roshan’s 2019 film, War, which amassed a total of Rs 159.70 crore during its five-day opening weekend. Nevertheless, Fighter has surpassed the box office earnings of films such as Bang Bang (Rs 90.13 crore), Agneepath (Rs 78.80 crore), and Krrish 3 (Rs 72.80 crore).

On the global stage, Fighter surged past the Rs 200 crore mark within four days of its theatrical release, with earnings of Rs 36.04 crore on its first day, Rs 64.57 crore on its second day, Rs 56.19 crore on its third day, and Rs 52.74 crore on its fourth day, amounting to a total of Rs 209.54 crore at the global box office, according to film critic and trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.

The film’s worldwide gross box office collection has reached $25.1 million as of Sunday. Fighter has received an IMDb rating of 7.9/10 and an audience score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jointly produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Studios, the film features Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Talat Aziz, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in pivotal roles. Notably, this marks the first collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.

Fighter is underscored by its references to the Pulwama attack, Balakot airstrike, and India-Pakistan border clashes in 2019, while also emphasizing the courage and sacrifices of Indian Air Force (IAF) officers in the line of duty.
