Is Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki Possibly Postponed to Avoid a Box Office Clash with Prabhas’ Salaar?

Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed that his upcoming film Dunki will be released in theaters around Christmas or New Year. This puts it in direct competition with Prabhas’ upcoming film Salaar – Part 1: Ceasefire, which is also scheduled to release in December this year. However, according to fresh reports, Dunki has been postponed.

Aakashavaani, a popular entertainment website, has tweeted that Dunki is likely to be postponed. The tweet claims that post-production work is taking longer than expected, and that the team may not be able to complete the film in time for its December 22 release. Official confirmation is still awaited. Check the tweet as under:

Salaar: Ceasefire, an upcoming action thriller film starring Prabhas, is scheduled for a worldwide release on December 22, 2023. The announcement was made by the film’s production house, Hombale Films, on Instagram, along with a new poster featuring Prabhas with blood on his body.

Talking about the Prabas film Salaar, it is directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar also stars Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. The film was originally scheduled for release on September 28, but was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Also, Shah Rukh Khan recently confirmed the release date of his upcoming film Dunki at the success event of Jawan. He said, “We started on January 26, Republic Day (with Pathaan), then on Janmashtami we released Jawan, now New Year and Christmas are round the corner, we will release Dunki. I keep National integration. Anyway, when my film is released, it is Eid.” Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film also stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead role.
