Varun Dhawan makes an official announcement of ‘Bhediya 2’ at Jio Studios event; to release in cinemas in 2025
Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon starrer supernatural-comedy ‘Bhediya’ had an underwhelming response at the box office despite getting positive reviews. But this underwhelming box office response has not stopped the film’s makers from going ahead with the film’s sequel.
Yesterday at the grand Jio Studio event Varun Dhawan finally made an official announcement about the ‘Bhediya 2’. He also revealed that the film is slated to release in 2025. Although it has not been confirmed whether Kriti Sanon will be part of the sequel or not.
Released in November 2022, Bhediya was a supernatural horror comedy about a man who turns into a wolf at night. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Bhediya was an average grosser at the box office with lifetime collection of Rs. 66 crores at the Indian box office.

Bhediya 2 will be part of Maddock Films’ horror- comedy cinematic universe which also includes Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee. Stree 2, which is also being helmed by Amar Kaushik, will hit the cinema screens on 31 August 2024.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun Dhawan will be next seen in Niesh Tiwari’s period romantic drama ‘Bawaal’ where he will be seen romancing with Janhvi Kapoor. The film will hit the big screens on 6 October 2023.
