Just when we saw the Ramanayan actress Dipika Chiklia sharing the first look from her biopic film Sarojini, we hear that the lady has been asking for a Padma Award from the government. She was quoted in a Hindi Newspaper where she said if the Modi Government feels that the mega TV show Ramanyan has helped in promoting the Indian culture then they should be rewarded for the same with Padwa Award.
The moment her statement came to light, it turned an instant hit and her fans and well wishers were seen making loads of hue and cry. An official from the Union Minister said that he has seen a couple of actors from the show lobbying for the Padma Award and it is the government to decide who to get the same. It was said on the condition of anonymity, the reports.
However, when Dipika came to know about her statement quoted in a local newspaper she denied saying such a thing in the past. She said she has never said such a thing about the award. She said people have just twisted her words and that the issue was never raised to her, while it was directed by Arun Govil only and not to her. She said that she only spoke about the royalty issue when asked if she wanted it to which she had said that she would certainly like to have it. She said it was Arun Govil who spoke about the award thing and not her.
