Just when the Indian Cricket team is doing well at the World Cup Cricket in England, we see the makers of the drama film called Doosra. The film is based on cricket and reminds us the iconic moment the then Indian Captain Ganguly removing his shirt and waving in the air to celebrate the victory of India against England in the NatWest Series final at the infamous Lord’s Cricket Ground in the UK on 13th July 2002. Its been 17 years and we still remember those moments.
The film happens to be a milestone, which defines the other freedom struggle of the nation, which was the juncture of emotional liberty while fighting with a country on their ground to beat them who ruled India for more than 150 years. The girl who remains the part this docu drama film has to fight against the prejudices that are seen in the nation. It also showcases the prominent people like Shashi Tharror, Rajdeep Sardesai and Harsha Bhogle reacting on the victory at the finals.
The makers have released the trailer and it is interesting to catch it. The film has an interesting star cast, which include Plabita Borthakur, Samidha Guru Ankur Vikal, and Tvisha Seema in the lead and supporting role. The film has the story and screenplay by adman Agnello Dias. Before you get another cricket drama on the silver screen in 83 by Kabir Khan, it would be interesting to see this film bring brought by Blackmail and Delly Belly fame director.
