Box Office: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Neha Sharma starrer ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ heading for disaster after poor opening weekend; Tovino Thomas starrer ‘2018’s Hindi dubbed version shows good growth

 Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma’s romantic comedy ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ did poor business on its first day of about Rs 3 crore and saw no significant jump in collections even on Saturday and Sunday. The film, which received mixed response from the critics, only managed to mint Rs. 1.40 crore nett in three days and it’s quite clear that the film is heading for box office disaster.

Directed by Kushan Nandy, Jogira Sara Ra Ra sees Nawazuddin Siddiqui play Jogi Pratap, a wedding planner, who has a ‘jugaad’ for everything. He comes across a young lady Dimple (Neha Sharma), whose marriage has been fixed by her parents. She enlists Jogi’s help to break off her marriage, and how the plan leads to one thing and then the other, is what makes the story.

On the other hand, Tovino Thomas’s survival drama ‘2018’s Hindi version has continued to surprise the trade analyst with its box office collection. The Malayalam film, whose Hindi dubbed version released on 26 May, has minted Rs. 8. 95 crore in three days.

 Released on 5 May, the film has grossed Rs. 80 crore in Kerala in 25 days. According to the film’s director Jude Anthany Joseph, the film’s worldwide total collection now stands at Rs. 160 crore.


2018 is based on actual events of the 2018 flash floods that occurred in Kerala and took away many lives. The film stars Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Lal and Narain with an ensemble supporting cast.
