From drug scandals to hit-and-run Bollywood actors have not always been on their best behaviour. These celebs often make headlines for their controversial activities. Not a long time ago the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan in the drug case, made a lot of noise and became a national issue.

Let’s go down the memory lain and see some of the most high-profile controversies from the Bollywood industry:

Salman Khan:

Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in prison for killing two blackbucks while filming ‘Hum Sath Sath Hain’ in 1998. From October 1998 until August 2007, the actor was imprisoned for 18 days in connection with the blackbuck killing case. Khan was also sentenced to two years in prison for a hit-and-run in 2002.

Sanjay Dutt was found guilty of the 1993 Mumbai bombings and sentenced to six years in prison, but his term was reduced to five years by the Supreme Court in 2013. Because of his exemplary behaviour, Sanjay Dutt was freed eight months early in February 2016.

Rhea Chakraborty:

Rhea Chakraborty, the actress and rumoured lover of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was detained on September 8, 2020, by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for allegedly acquiring narcotics. She had been imprisoned for about a month before being freed on bail by the Bombay High Court on October 7.

In 2001, the Mumbai Police arrested Fardeen Khan for narcotics possession. After 2012, a Mumbai sessions court awarded him immunity from prosecution and discharged him in three days.

Shiney Ahuja:

A special fast-track court sentenced actor Shiney Ahuja to seven years in prison for raping his domestic worker. Following his conviction in 2009, the actor was granted bail by the Bombay High Court in 2011.

Sooraj Pancholi

Bollywood Sooraj Pancholi was temporarily imprisoned under IPC section 306 on suspicion of abetting actor Jiah Khan’s suicide. On July 1, 2013, he was granted bail and is currently awaiting a final verdict. “I was put in the and cell at the Arthur Road jail which is the most secluded cell,” he had said recalling his time in jail.
