Mrunal Thakur Sparks Outrage with “Tired of Proving Myself” Remark on Bollywood Romantic Movies, Users Accuse Industry of Sidelining Her

Having reigned over television for years, Mrunal Thakur made a striking foray into the world of cinema, aiming to make a significant impact on the big screen. Following her appearances in a couple of movies, she garnered heightened recognition through her role alongside Hrithik Roshan in the film Super 30. Subsequently, she ventured into projects such as Batla House, Jersey, Pippa, and other notable films. Additionally, she has played pivotal roles in South Indian films including Sita Ramam, Hi Nanna, and others.

The actress has been the center of attention since the morning, following some startling revelations she made during her latest interview. In a recent interview, Mrunal Thakur candidly addressed the topic of her limited involvement in Hindi romantic movies, expressing her weariness in having to continually prove herself to filmmakers.

During her conversation with Pinkvilla, when asked about her willingness to work in Hindi romantic movies, Mrunal stated, “I don’t know, I am not popular enough to get a love story yet. Am I wrong? I have to be popular to get a love story, no? There are a lot of films being offered to me, but definitely not romantic movies. I would love to do that. I don’t know yaar, I am just tired of proving to filmmakers now. I just want it to happen organically, I am done asking them.”

One user remarked, “I was surprised when I found out Mrunal was not that popular in B-Wood. Her roles in Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna were truly exceptional, she looked truly majestic in both with the acting chops to back it up.” Another user commented, “Good for her. The biased people in Bollywood will actively try to sideline her, like they do to all talented non-nepos. Her roles in Telugu have been amazing. She should focus in Telugu and Tamil more. She’s getting widespread appreciation from all south Indian movie audience, for SitaRamam and now, Hi Nanna.”

Further support came from another user who stated, “It hits when she says such bolu, we have a load of actresses here like Sara, Ananya, and Janhvi who keep getting work, but she doesn’t. Glad she is doing good stuff in South like Hi Nanna and Sita Ramam.”
