Atrangi Re Review : From outstanding music by AR Rahman to stellar performances by Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar & Dhanush, film has everything in place!

Atrangi Re Review

Story:

With Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush, and Akshay Kumar, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma construct a wonderful environment in Atrangi Re to handle a delicate problem in the guise of fun. While discussing the plot in length would reveal plot aspects, one can say that the duo of Aanand and Himanshu succeed in capturing the audience’s interest in the unusual world that they intended to build. In the first half, the screenplay progresses at a fast pace (after a few small snags in the first ten minutes) with a mix of comedy, romance, emotions, and a hint of mystery. The second half starts off well, with an unexpected element of humour introduced to Akshay and Dhanush’s characters, but the pace slows down in the middle. However, the writing is sharp enough to pick up again in the last 15 minutes, ensuring that one will finish this beautiful adventure smiling.

Music:

AR Rahman’s background score serves as the film’s fourth most important character, with his music perfectly complementing the plot.

Technical Departments:

The film is brilliantly shot, with visual parallels to the cultures of Bihar, Madurai, and Delhi. Although the editing is excellent, some loose ends in the second half may have been cut. The dialogues are outstanding, and they play an important part in elevating the film’s tone. Rinku and Vishnu’s interactions almost always bring a grin to my face. Keep an eye out for Sara Ali Khan aka Rinku’s one-liners.

Performances

When it comes to performances, Atrangi Re belongs to Dhanush, who steals the show right from the start. He thrives in the dramatic scenes, stands out as the silly lover boy, plays on the front foot in the comedy scenes, and aces the emotional scenes like a pro. Rinku is played by Sara Ali Khan, who gives a promising performance. It was a difficult job for a rookie to take on because it has so many nuances, but she manages to pull off the multi-layered character successfully. She’s assured, and she nails Rinku’s basic emotion to a tee. She gives a pleasant surprise and proves her worth as a performer. Then there’s Akshay Kumar, who plays the mythical Khiladi. He has a 35- to 40-minute screen time in the movie, offering a sense of joy throughout most of the story before ultimately providing emotional depth to the conclusion. The rest of the cast is fantastic.

Final Verdict:

Overall, Atrangi Re has problems but ultimately proves to be a fun experience because of a well-written story and strong performances from the entire cast. It’s a magical film that’s worth watching with the whole family at home this weekend.
