Heropanti 2 Review: Tiger Shroff starrer lacks just three elements, storyline, plot & character development

Movie: Heropanti 2
Cast: Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria, Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Director: Ahmed Khan

Rating: ⭐⭐

Story:

The film opens with the introduction of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays Laila, a magician, a digital fraudster, and a kind brother all rolled into one. Laila (Nawazuddin) and Babloo Rawat (Tiger Shroff) are the central characters in the plot. Babloo is continuously avoiding Laila’s attacks while simultaneously courting Laila’s sister, Inaaya (Tara Sutaria). Following that is a battle between the heart and the mind, as well as between Babloo and Laila. Who will emerge victorious? Is Babloo going to lose this time, and will the popular franchise get the third installment? Well, I guess you’ll have to wait and see!

Review:

Babloo Ranawat is RJ in the sequel, and he is a transformed man. Amrita Singh, who plays his mother, is introduced to us. The sequences between the two seem pointless. The plot progresses to depict Babloo’s decision to leave India and embark on a new chapter in his life.

Nawazuddin is like butter on bread, whether he’s stepping into the role of Laila or tackling action sequences. His acting abilities are on full display, and he is a joy to see. In Heropanti 2, Tiger is his normal great self as a performer. He owns every scene, kills action moments, and even tries his hand at romance scenes.

Tara Sutaria as Inaaya plays Tiger Shroff’s love interest. The actress, on the other hand, has minimal screen time and an even smaller role in the plot.

The film, directed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker Ahmed Khan, was shot in exotic locations and has music by master AR Rahman. However, this isn’t your typical Rahman composition. The song, whether it’s Dafa Kar or Whistle Baja 2.0, are not memorable and won’t stick with you long after the credits have rolled. They’re sassy and all we’d expect from masala entertainment. Tiger Shroff debuted as a vocalist with the song Miss Hairan and has done a decent job. The storyline of Heropanti 2 did not work. The 2-hour-22-minute film could easily have been trimmed in half, if not more.

Verdict:

Heropanti 2 missed a bit more focus on the storyline, plot, and character development.
