Bachchhan Paandey Review: Akshay Kumar brings a perfect treat of masala entertainer

Film: ‘Bachchhan Paandey

Rating: 4/5
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Prateik Babbar, Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Biswas.
Produced by: Sajid Nadiadwala
Director: Farhad Samji

The narrative of a brutal criminal is told in Bachchhan Paandey. Myra Devekar (Kriti Sanon) is a budding filmmaker who approaches producer Ashwin Mushran (Ashwin Mushran) to direct her first film. Rakesh suggests that she make a biopic about a gangster. Myra begins her study and comes upon Bachchhan Paandey (Akshay Kumar), a notorious mobster in the town of Baghwa. Myra arrives in Baghwa and begins her research on Bachchhan Paandey with the help of a friend, Vishu (Arshad Warsi). Bachchhan appears to be too frightening, so she approaches Kandi (Saharsh Kumar Shukla), Bufferia Chacha (Sanjay Mishra), Pendulum (Abhimanyu Singh), and Virgin (Prateik Babbar), who are part of his gang.

Virgin is the only one who speaks up, and while giving facts, he also mentions that Bachchan Paandey had had a girl named Sophie (Jacqueline Fernandez). He alleges that he killed her after they had a fight. Bachchhan Paandey, meantime, discovers that Myra has been inquiring about her. He immediately suspects she’s either a journalist or a police informant. The rest of the movie is built around what happens next.

When it comes to performances, Akshay Kumar does not disappoint. He possesses the star power necessary for the part. Kriti Sanon is lovely in this film and gives a strong performance. Arshad Warsi, as usual, is overly talented and tries his hardest to increase the humour factor. In a supporting role, Jacqueline Fernandez is wonderful. Prateik Babbar is good. Sanjay Mishra makes a valiant effort to be amusing. Abhimanyu Singh makes an impression. Pankaj Tripathi (Bhaves Bopla) gets a few laughs.

The direction of the film is not top notch but I have to agree that you don’t get bored at any point of the film. The costumes of Aki Narula, Sukriti Grover, Puneet Jain, Chandini Whabi, and Sambo are stunning. The editing by Charu Roy is excellent.

Overall, Bachchhan Paandey is a must-see for Akshay Kumar and masala film aficionados.
