What Akshay Kumar has to say about TEPK being called as a propaganda film

The recent release of Akshay Kumar called “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” has been called as the ‘propaganda film’ when some of the sections of the actors were asked to comment about the movie. Though many felt that it is no wrong to have a film with relevant issues, which the state has been concerned about with the cinema, but some of the people felt it is nothing but an attempt to make it a propaganda movie for the obvious reasons.

The film is Directed by Shree Narayan Singh and it has Akshay Kumar in the lead role of a man, who is left behind after his wife returns his parents places for not having toilet toilet at his home. Now, when Akki was asked about this criticism he was seen commenting to the reporters that If the government is asking the same thing  then making a film on it is certainly not going to make it a propaganda film. He then said that he  believes on the idea of building a toilet and calls it to be extremely important, especially for women.

He then talked about the movie Padman and shared the data claiming that 91 per cent of women avoid using it because they can’t just afford it. In order to talk about such issues and bringing them in the front is certainly not a propaganda claimed the actor. He then said, he does not want such issues to be highlighted and discussed about it. Akshay Kumar was addressing a press conference via Skype from London. He then said that his movie is doing a good business and people are liking it.

He then said that he simply wants people to watch the movie not for making money to get some social message. He then applauded the state governments which have been showcasing the movie in different villages in the UP and Haryana. He then said that they have plans to release the movie on Doordarshan so that it reaches to the interiors.
