Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra on web series ‘Hostages’

Directed by Sudhir Mishra, the new web series, Hostages will be out on sizzlingstar on May 31. This sizzlingstar Special upcoming web series, Hostages is expected to hold a cutting edge story and acting going hand in hand. The opening scene of the series shows Mira Anand, her husband and two children who are being held at the gunpoint. Mira is a doctor who faced an impossible choice of killing the chief minister during an upcoming surgery or watches her family die right in front of her.

Hostages is an adaptation of the 2013 Israeli series with the same name. It is a total family drama wrapped in a thriller. As the Anands are prisoner in their own home, secrets reveal and their relationships are tested. Directed by Sudhir Mishra (Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Daas Dev), the cast includes Tisca Chopra, Ronit Roy, Parvin Dabbas, Ashim Gulati, Dalip Tahil and Mohan Kapoor, Hostages will be released on sizzlingstar on May 31.

Tisca Chopra seems pretty excited and equally confident of her role as Mira, describing which she mentioned it as one of the best roles of her career and stated to a statement given to Scroll.in, “This is one of those characters that is hash tag goals. She is my hero. Her conflict is – you save your family, or you kill. One doesn’t come across such a conflict very often in a character.”

Ronit Roy plays the role of Prithvi Singh, a police officer and seems a bit tight-lipped about his character as he mentioned quite a little about his role, saying, “Nothing is what it seems to be in the series,” he said. “And that’s all I can say about him.”

The series, Hostages has been written and directed by Rotem Shamir and Omri Givon. The Israeli version of the thriller featured Ayelet Zurer as Yael Danon and Jonah Lotan as police office Adam Rubin.
