The youth of the current generation holds tremendous power to change their lives and the lives of those around them. But the fear of struggle haunts their mind. While they receive a piece of advice from many elderly people, listening to someone of the same age is more cheering, isn’t it? Thus, Bhiva Rajan Parab, aka chef Rupal Parab, has come to the forefront to empower them.
He comes from a family whose financial pillars got weakened, and thus the young boy had to join the hustle of earning a livelihood for his home. The chef battled multiple hardships. Sharing the lessons he learned from his experiences, Rupal Parab says to teenagers, “No matter when and what field you choose, you cannot vamoose from hard work. So brace yourself for all the toughest tasks because success doesn’t come easy.”
He did DJing for a long time but then joined IHM, Goa, to build a better future. Though DJing was his passion, he had to abandon it. To which chef Rupal says, “Oftentimes things don’t move according to our plans. So, practise detachment. Sometimes you have to give up even on your favourite things, and it’s for the best. Because the future has stored even bigger opportunities for you.”
Chef Rupal Parab is just 21 years old and has already achieved so many milestones. But was it easy? Of course not! “A lot goes into making yourself successful—sleepless nights, immense hard work, failures, and whatnot! But your determination and passion will get you through this.”
The chef has been listed among Asia’s top 20 chefs by a prominent New York press agency. In 2020, he was listed as one of the 500 most influential people around the globe. After graduating from IHM, he started working at the JW Marriott in Mumbai and went on to work in Qatar. He has now taken his mastery of crafting finger-licking, heavenly dishes to New Zealand. He has now expressed his desire to join cooking shows. At such a young age, chef Rupal Parab has made a strong mark in the culinary world. He is an inspiration for millions of youth.
