The film moves around Sunny Singh’s character called Chaman who is suffering from premature balding. So, he (Chaman) is bald, virgin, and horny. Despite being 30 years of age he is not able to get married for being bald. His family pundit claims that if he is not able to get married before he turns 31 then he will die being single. He then installs Tinder where he fins Apsara played by Maanvi Gagroo. Both dislike each other as she is plumb and the Chaman is bald, so what goes next is interesting to explore.

Review

The story has so much potential to get presented the best way, but the makers failed to exploit the elements. While tweaking some of the aspects, the makers were unable to tweak some aspects and loses the charm and novelty elements. The makers despite getting a readymade story failed to copy-paste the way it could have been done to enjoy the elements. The film overall fails to grip the audience. Now, talking about the star performances, Sunny was seen going uni-dimensional, which required a controlled performance but in a sense, he failed to impress the audience. Maanvi was seen decent with her assigned role and but it seems that she is getting typecast with getting similar roles.

Now, talking about Saurabh Shukla, he was simply wasted getting him for an extended cameo. The others like Atul Kumar and Grusha Kapoor in the role of parents did a decent job. Now, talking about the other elements like direction, it seemed okay if you ignore the mess created by the story. The songs were good and so was the music.

Ujda Chaman – The Last Word

Ujda Chaman cannot be called as a great entertainer as it has been the victim of its own people who failed to deliver the way they wanted to present the film. Humor seemed falling flat, while the most vital angle of bald and fat-shaming is seen wasted and appears to be dragged spoof.
