Social Media has been abuzz over the week as Internet’s favourite desi couple, Divya Upadhyay and Pankaj Joshi, who popularly goes by their screen name, PJ, announce their engagement. With a collective following of more than 25 million across Tiktok, Moj and Instagram, the couple’s popularity keep growing with each day, and so does their love. Besides their adorable, funny and witty content, the couple has worked in numerous music videos, and big names such as Tony Kakkar, Sonakshi Sinha and others. They also have several original content lines up on OTT platforms.
Hailing from a humble family in Madhya Pradesh, Divya started her social media journey with dance videos on YouTube. Soon her cheerful and bubbly persona gained her followers rapidly, and she started collaborating with the big and established social media stars. PJ, on the other hand, is small-town boy from Rajasthan, with big dreams. He broke the conventional social barriers as he took to content creation as his choice of carrier and his chocolate boy charm won hearts. They both moved to Indore for their respective careers, where they met and magic happened when the two collaborated on a Mother’s day feature, falling head over heels in love. After around three years of dating, the couple decided to take their relationship to the next level and get engaged. Followed by the big yes, the couple paid a visit to the temple to seek divine blessings for their future union.
The grand engagement ceremony was held on 23rd April at the luxurious Royal Resort, Patalpani, Mhow, where the sweethearts exchanged rings. The couple made their grand entries in style, emerging from the centre of a giant red heart, while the entire venue lit up with sparklers and fireworks, making it a dreamy evening to remember. Divya was dressed in a designer gown, embroidered in gorgeous stonework, while PJ dazzled the big day in a smart red suit with a striking stone embroidery detail to match his lovely fiancee. From her jewellery, headband and even nails to his watch, stonework was the focus of the day, as the happy couple sparkled their way into the new phase of life. The event was graced by some of the biggest social media celebrities, such as Oye Indori, Poorvi Bhargav, Shikha Sharma, Ansh Pandit, Ashwini Yadav, and Shivani Kapila, Sajid Ali, Sonal Agarwal, Chiku Vyas to name a few.
Social media cannot get over the stunning engagement photos and videos the couple have shared on their pages. PJ and Divya have, since then, also created a couple of adorable and funny reels about their engagement and they promise that they have more exciting content up to their sleeve. On being asked the question of their impending nuptials, the couple remarked that they do not have a date set yet. “When we get to that, our fans will be the first to know. We swear that nothing will happen in secrecy”, laughed Divya.
