Japan teaser: Is Karthi a hero, villain, or comedian in this action-comedy?
The teaser of Karthi’s upcoming Tamil film Japan, which has been directed by Raju Murugan, was unveiled on Thursday to celebrate the film’s lead Karthi’s 46th birthday. The makers have released a captivating 1 minute 18 seconds clip which introduces the viewers to Karthi’s character ‘Japan’.
His character is very mysterious and someone who doesn’t reveal anything about him. The clip showcases people referring to him as a hero, a comedy piece, and even a villain. The intriguing mix of perceptions promises an exhilarating ride for the audience.
In the video, Karthi goes on to introduce himself as Japan – made in India and we also see him sporting different looks. His different look and comedic tone of the teaser indicates that this film will be an action comedy thriller where Karthi will play a role of a con artist.
The film also stars Anu Emmanuel as a female lead and she also makes a blink and miss appearance in the short teaser. Karthi is expected to wrap up the shoot of ‘Japan’ by June.
Written and directed by Rajumurugan, the film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on Diwali this year. The film has music by GV Prakash Kumar and is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. As per the makers, the film will also be dubbed and released in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Karthi was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2. Meanwhile, beside this film, Karthi will be next seen in his yet another most awaited sequel ‘Kaithi 2’ which will be helmed by Lokesh Kanagraj. The film is still in pre-production.
