OMG: Netflix Allocates 200 Cr for Katrina Kaif & Ali Abbas Zafar’s Superhero Film
Here comes yet another venture of the streaming giant – Netflix of 200 Crores. It will be a superhero film with Katrina Kaif playing the Indian Superhero in it. The film will be helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who is all set to take the world to stride with this venture getting Netflix support. As per the recent buzz, the streaming giant – Netflix Original is back in the news as it is backing with 200 Crores for the venture. Yes, you heard it right, they are planning to invest a whopping 200 Cr in the siad venture.
The film will be made in two parts starring Katrina Kaif in the leading role. As per reports, they are expecting to get the sum of 85 crores for the first part and the same would be the second for the Super Hero franchise. As per Bollywood Hungama reports, it is a massive budget film and will see Kat in a never seen role playing female protagonist for the first time in her career. Since Ali was very much interested in this venture, he will be taking care of the direction part.
However, he was not able to pump that huge amount, which made him take the OTT way out. Since Netflix is a giant when it comes to streaming media, it was no big deal for them to invest such a huge amount. As per reports, the filmmakers feel that the film will be a game changer since it happens to be a women centric action film in B Town. Kat has already worked with Ali in Tiger Zinda Hai, hence it would be easy for them to work together. The script is locked at the moment, however, the exact budget is yet to be decided since it’s Netflix, which will take its final call.
