Dum Laga Ke Haisha seems to have a fabulous success story over the box office. Thanks to the simple and sweet love story it encompasses. The story, which brings back the nostalgia of eighties and nineties audio cassette era along with the something unusual, which has been missed by the generation of 30’s and 40’s since long. The word of mouth for the film went with a steady momentum helping a low budget film do really well over the box office. Some critics went on claiming that it is Yash Raj’s best film in the recent past, hence collecting a decent figure was inevitable.
As per reports, Dum Laga Ke Haisha’s first week box office collection tolled to around 12 crores, which is actually a decent figure. With competition from Badlapur, the movie was able to do average over the box office.  However, the other movies like Ab Tak Chappan 2  and others failed to give any competition.   All in all, the movie was able to do better over the box office, with limited number of screens and low budget, it can be called as one of the hits of this week. Also, with Holi the prolonged weekend will certainly help the collection of the film for sure.
