Starring Nandha Durairaj and Abhirami Venkatchalam in the main lead, Iru Dhruvam series has tipped to emerge as a remarkable crime-thriller.
Actor Nandha Durairaj has been winning over his fans with his cop image in a crisp khaki uniform. He has been winning hearts with this look of his as he has been reprising the role of a cop on the silver screen, several times. Right from his début with Vellore Maavattam to his more recent flicks from Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Nandha has been a true love when it comes to portraying a super cop. Once again featuring in a similar role, the talented actor is back donning the khaki but, this time it’s for the digital platform.
He is playing the role of Inspector David Viktor for the web-series Iru Dhuruvam, which was has launched, recently. The first season of this crime series is written and directed by M Kumaran. Released on SonyLIV, the series is being liked a lot by the audiences marking its entry into the digital space.
Produced for Applause Entertainment by Pramod Cheruvalath’s Sign of Life Productions, Iru Dhuruvam is known to be the first Tamil original series on SonyLIV’s video on demand (VOD) platform.
However, for Nandha, this is the third web-series as he mentioned his love for the digital medium, expressing his views, “Web-series can bring multiple genres and variety to consumers. The market for web-series is developing now. Big names are getting into this. Director Gautham Menon is also working on one.”
Speaking about the differential perspective of the platform as compared to movies, he said on a media platform, “A web-series is more challenging because you need to make every episode engaging, unlike a three-hour-long movie. You need to keep the viewer hooked.”
Abhirami Venkatachalam, the well known Nerkonda Paarvai fame is playing as Viktor’s wife, Geetha.
Speaking about the series, she mentioned, “Though I have a small part in this season, it was a great acting experience for me. The on-screen chemistry between me and Nandha has come through really well. You will see more of me in the next season of Iru Dhuruvam.”
Actor Abdool, the well known Mersal fame and Baby Anisha are also prime part of the cast.
