It will be exciting and challenging: Deepika Padukone on working with Vishal Bharadwaj
We know Deepika Padukone is a busy bee. The actress, who made her Hollywood debut with xXx: Return of Xander Cage, recently graced the red carpet of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, representing a beauty brand. While Deepika’s looks received a mixed reaction from the fashion police, her fans went gaga over their favourite lady!
Now the actress is back in Mumbai and will soon resume shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. Reportedly, news of Deepika having signed Vishal Bhardwaj’s next opposite Irrfan Khan, recently grabbed headlines. The movie is based on journalist Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The yet-untitled film is being directed by Abhishek Chaubey and is produced by Bhardwaj, Prerna Arora and Arjun N. Kapoor.
 When Deepika was asked about working with Vishal Bhardwaj by a news agency, she said, “I haven’t worked with him yet so I can’t talk much. But as an audience, I can say it is fascinating to see the kind of films he does. As an actor, I would love to work with him. It will be extremely challenging and very exciting to be working with him.” Interestingly, in the film, Deepika will play the role of Mafia Queen Rahima Khan, popularly called Sapna Didi whereas Irrfan will play a local gangster, who is in love with her and will help her in the mission to eliminate Dawood Ibrahim.
