Bombay High Court Dismisses Forcible Kissing Case Against Mika Singh After Consent from Rakhi Sawant

The long-standing controversy between Mika Singh and Rakhi Sawant, which began in 2006 when the reality show star accused the singer of forcibly kissing her at his birthday party, has finally reached a resolution. Rakhi Sawant had taken legal action at the time and filed an FIR against Mika Singh, charging him with molestation and assault under sections 354 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code. After years of legal proceedings, the Bombay High Court has now quashed the case, following Rakhi’s submission of an affidavit expressing her consent.

Earlier this year, Rakhi Sawant surprised many by posing with Mika Singh outside a coffee shop, indicating that they had resolved their differences and were now on amicable terms. The actress-dancer even embraced Mika, which prompted him to seek the court’s intervention in dismissing the charges against him and quashing the chargesheet filed by the Mumbai police. Justices A S Gadkari and S G Dige of the Bombay High Court took note of Rakhi’s affidavit, in which she stated that she had resolved all her differences with Mika and acknowledged that the entire dispute had arisen due to misunderstandings and misconceptions. Consequently, the court dismissed all the charges against the singer.

To provide some context, Mika Singh had invited Rakhi Sawant to his birthday party in 2006 and had specifically requested his friends not to smear cake on his face. Allegedly, Rakhi disregarded his request and proceeded to smear the cake on Mika’s face. In response, Mika claimed that he forcibly kissed her to “teach her a lesson.” Several photos and videos from the party had circulated in the media, leading to the filing of the FIR against the singer on June 11, 2006.

After years of legal battles and public controversy, the recent development of the Bombay High Court quashing the case signifies the resolution of this longstanding dispute between Mika Singh and Rakhi Sawant.
