Censor Board Has No Problem with Ayushmann Khurrana’s smooch with Jitendra Kumar
As Ayushmann Khurrana gears up for his next film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, we see a film coming up dealing with yet another taboo issue. It would be a first mainstream film that would deal with a gay love story having Ayushmann Khurrana playing the lead role or a gay lover. The release of the trailer also showcased some bold scenes like the smooth of the lead actors of the film playing gay partners before the audience and even the censor board.
As per sources, as the film was presented before the censor board, no member had any objection to the same-sex relationship or kiss seen in the trailer. However, the words which Gajraj Rao who is playing the father’s role of Jitendra Kumar was seen uttering something that been added with a beep. As per sources close to the producer, we see Aanand be very much apprehensive about the kiss. However, he wanted a U certificate for his film, which perhaps is not possible for obvious reason.
But for this, the Censor Board has asked to remove the kissing scene along with the dialogue to be deleted to get the desired ratings. With the UA Certificate, the story becomes a love story in the film rather than being a gay love story. Thus we see the Censor Board giving the film a U/A Certificate that adults are free to watch but teenagers under the supervision of their elders can watch this movie. As they can handle the question of their kids about the two males kissing each other.
