Tabu has been in the film industry for 30 years. The 51-year-old actress is known for her evergreen elegance and remains among the best in Bollywood. In a new interview, the actress dropped the beans, saying there’s nothing special she’s doing to age like a great wine.

Tabu was most recently featured in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. She played the double role of twin sisters Anjulika and Manjulika. Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani also stared in the film. The film was a box office success, and Tabu was given credit for it. In terms of being relevant, the actor stated that she is conscious of her image and understands how to maintain it, making her one of the evergreen performers.

While talking to the publication when she was asked about her beauty routine, she said, “Koi secret nahi hai (I don’t have a secret). Mithali, my makeup artist, was telling me, ‘Ma’am, skin is looking good, some home nuska (remedy) you are doing or what?’ Some days, I’ll tell her that I put coffee here, and some plant there, and she’ll say, ‘You can’t do that, you have to use this cream’, and she’ll suggest some ₹50,000 cream. Ek baar khareed liya, bas. Aage nahi khareedungi (I bought it once, but never again).”

When questioned if her happiness is what makes her glow, the actor believes her genes may be the reason for her beauty. “There’s nothing that I consciously do for my face and all, but of course, I’m aware and conscious that I better look a certain way. I will not purposely ruin anything that takes away from… But that’s with everyone, even if you’re not an actor. Everyone wants to look good and maintain a certain level of being presentable, and fit, and healthy, and mentally there. I try my best,” she further added.

On the work front

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Tabu’s next film will be Khufiya, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. While the film marks her reunion with the director, it also represents her first collaboration with Vishal’s son, Asmaan. It’s billed as a spy thriller, and Ali Fazal plays a significant part.
