Leo Box Office Collection Day 2: Vijay’s Film Sees a Noticeable Decline

Actor Vijay’s action-thriller ‘Leo’ had a thunderous opening day at the box office, grossing Rs 148.5 crore globally and Rs 64.80 crore in India. However, on its second day, Friday, the film witnessed a significant fall in collection, earning Rs 36 crore in India (early estimates), which is almost a drop of 50% from Thursday. Industry tracker Sacnilk attributed the fall in collection to negative word-of-mouth and reduction in screen count due to the release of other films. The Tamil occupancy of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is at 66.85%.

Film trade expert Manobala Vijayabalan has revealed that the number of screens showing Vijay’s ‘Leo’ has been reduced outside Tamil Nadu due to negative word of mouth. He wrote on Twitter, “#Leo screens REDUCED from tomorrow outside Tamil Nadu. Shocking fact is, due to poor WoM, many leo screens are getting allotted to other movies on Day 2 itself all over the world.” This is a significant development, as it suggests that the film is not performing well with audiences outside of Tamil Nadu. This is likely due to the fact that the film has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.

It remains to be seen whether the film will be able to pick up its business in the coming days. However, the reduction in screen count is a sign that the film’s makers are worried about its performance. It is important to note that word-of-mouth can play a big role in the success of a film. If a film is getting negative reviews from audiences, it is likely to deter other people from watching it. This is why it is important for filmmakers to make sure that their films are well-received by audiences.

It remains to be seen whether ‘Leo’ will be able to pick up its business in the coming days. However, the film’s poor second-day performance is a cause for concern for its makers.
