Sandip Soparrkar and CSA organize Art auction for rehabilitating orphans across India

Bollywood ace choreographers Sandip Soparrkar performed at the 11th annual Charity Dinner to raise funds for the NGO Catalyst for Social Action (CSA). To raise the necessary funds for this cause, CSA had organized an art auction at NSCI, Worli, to bring under one roof the exquisite works of some of the best artists in India. CSA supporters with a passion for the cause came together and had put up dance performances too, Akhil is the Managing Director of The Shahani Group performed with his daughter Shagun Shahani. DR MUKESH PARMAR AND KAINAZ MISTRY-TALATI  DR MUKESH PARMAR AND KAINAZ MISTRY-TALATI these couples/duos came together to raise funds through pledges supported by family, friends and well-wishers. The performance reflected the fact that this cause is close to their hearts. They performed under the tutelage of internationally renowned choreographer Sandip Soparrkar – CSA’s Cause Ambassador and his team. He being an adoptive parent himself, works enthusiastically in propagating the cause for the benefit of orphan children.

CSA’s Cause Ambassador Dance Maestro Sandip Soparrkar said, “Dance is an excellent medium to raise awareness about social issues. People donate money to watch the show and also to purchase art, which was put up for auction, post the show. It’s not just the dance but art in in a whole, which will raise the funds in this case”.

One of the highlights of the fundraiser was the Art Auction – Live & Silent sections which brought together works of some of the best known artists in India such as Ajay De, Arzan Khambatta, Brinda Miller, Gurcharan Singh, Jaya Lamba, Shola Carletti, Venkat Shyam, Anwar Chitrakar and Jaidev Baghel to name a few and some very talented artists who are stalwarts in their own rights.

Vipul Jain, President- CSA appealed, “There are around a million orphans and destitute children in orphanages and adoption agencies in India. These institutions need urgent upgradation to ensure holistic rehabilitation. We must also explore family-based alternatives like adoption and target better rehabilitation outcomes.”
