After embarking with his earlier film Killing Veerappan, he is back with his next movie starring Sandeep Bhardwaj, Sachiin Joshi, Lisa Ray and Usha Jadhav in the lead role. The film is produced by Raina Sachin Joshi under the banner of Viking Media & Entertainment, while it is directed by Ram Gopal Varma who has also done the screenplay and story, while the story is jotted by R.D. Tailang. The music comes from Jeet Ganguly, while the director of photography is the man called Aniket Khandagale. Now, let’s dig in deep into the film and find out the gist of the same as under:

She then uses the wife of bandit in order to find him. The narrative simply traces the reign of terror or Veerappan, while his acts of smuggling and poaching, the bandit is seen reveling in his mockery of the forces, which in turn helps in hiding out over the inside of the forests and then passing time in killing elephant.

Review

As everything regarding the movie made headlines all his lifetime, the story of the movie has no surprises at all. Also, you may not find much of edges to catch the film till last with its docu-feature style narrative. However, if you are curious and keen in order to see the time and life of one in the most notorious criminals who whirled his moustache that has brandished his gun with similar finesses. RGM in the film offers you that vicarious pleasure in it. In the first half, the film has its moments and watching the film simply strides all over the screen, killing people and animals mindlessly to hold your breath. The blood, gut spilling and all his ruthless ways of smashing the faces of his victim can make your skin crawl, so, if you are a person with faint heart you shouldn’t be caring much of these scenes rather than soaking the lush green landscape and the milky waterfalls of south India.

In the second half, you get the much needed bit, which could have been more gripping. The STF (Special Task Force) is shown wiping out this dreaded smuggler and killer in a dramatic fashion. So, the entire Operation Cocoon, which was conspired to nab or kill this man was launched by the Indian government is shown doing things in a Ram GopalVarma’s style. Hence one can expect loads of thrilling moments and exciting stuff of Ramu’s version in the film, which could be in a sense worthy saying.

Talking about the performance, Sandeep who is playing the character of Veerapan has made this notorious criminal alive over the silver screen, while the leading lady of the film played by Usha playing the character of Muthulakshmi is really very much convincing. Though the director may not be seen in the top form, Ramudoes try to redeem his lost honor in filmmaking to some degree. His film simply allow you to get up, close and get personal with the ruthless criminal who simply took ride the entire Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governments, as he very well understood the loopholes in the system.

Veerappan Review Last Word

RGV has tried to fictionalize the life of ruthless and notorious criminal called Veerappan just to add some entertainment value. You may find the typical of RGV with his style being gritty and engaging. Perhaps with this film, one can say that RGV has finally found his long lost mojo. In terms of performance of the lead actor, the film is simply awesome though you may need to digest the typical elements of Ramu in it.
