The release date for Rajinikanth’s Jailer has been announced. The much-anticipated action film will hit theatres on August 10th.
Sun Pictures’ Twitter handle released the film’s release date alongside a new promo featuring Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff who ooze swag.

Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, written and directed by him, brings together talents from four Indian cinema industries: Rajnikanth from Tamil, Mohanlal from Malayalam, Jackie Shroff from Hindi, and Shiva Rajkumar from Kannada.
The video quickly went popular on Twitter, receiving several retweets and likes. Fans left fire emojis in the comments section of the post.
The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, Ramya Krishnan and Vinayakan in important roles. Jailer has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Cinematography is by Vijay Karthik Kannan and editing is by R Nirmal.
Rajinikanth’s last big screen appearance was in Annaatthe (2021). The film which also starred Nayanthara, Khushbu and Keerthy Suresh, earned Rs. 250 crore at global box office.

According to media sources, Shah Rukh Khan’s pan-Indian film ‘Jawan’ will now be released on August 11th. If the claims are correct, Jailer would face severe competition from Jawan in Tamil Nadu, as Jawan is directed by famed Tamil filmmaker Atlee, and therefore there is already a lot of hype about Jawan in Tamil Nadu, and the film is also being dubbed in Tamil. It will be interesting to see how both films compete the box office.
