Emraan and Humaima’s starrer movie Raja Natwarlal seems to have turned out into an average movie over the box office. Though the movie didn’t aspire to enter the 100 crore club, still its very first day opening at the box office seemed to be alarm bell for everyone related to this project. The mixed reviews coming from the various quarters of B Town, really didn’t help the movie to survive leaving behind a sad message for the ones associated with this movie. The entire first weekend went from bad to worse, giving a sad collection at the end of the first week billing to around 26 crores, which is very much beyond imagination.
Frankly the amount the movie has boasted after 7 days could have been the first weekend collection, considering the whopping amount of resources and money the movie has consumed in its production. But the lack of any hit score seemed to be the starting point for getting the slow opening, while the word of mouth publicity for the movie also didn’t work in its favour. The complete con game, which involved the business stalwart like Kay Kay Menon too seemed very much simple to digest. The bottom line, Raja Natwarlal didn’t prove out to be the quintessential movie of Emraan unlike the other flop movies like Ek Thi Daayan, Rush and Ghanchakkar.
