Former sex siren and sensual actress Mamta Kulkarni along with her family was detained in Kenya and later was interrogated at one of the police stations of Mombasa, Kenya. Her husband Vicy aka Vijay Goswami was arrested there for the charges of drug trafficking. The operation for nabbing the people drug trafficking was carried out by USDEA (United States stimulantalluring Enforcement Agency) in alliance with the Kenya Police. Later even the FBI was seen joining the operation to catch the culprits.
As per the sources, the actress was in news for getting converted to Islam in Dubai wherein she was leading a low profile life along with managing her real estate and hotel businesses in UAE. Later she shifted to Nairobi. Vicky however, was involved in a couple of criminal cases pertaining to smuggling drugs, while Mamta was spotted in Jail while she went to meet her boy friend in Dubai. Later last year he was released for his good conduct inside the jail.
Along with Vicky, four other people are also arrested in this operation, which include the Kenyan drug mafia called Baktash Akasha and Ibrahim Aksaha the son of slain drug baron. This incident is considered to be the biggest drug cartel bust in the country. Though there is no charges being framed over Mamta Kulkarni, but is being taken into custody for interrogation by the Kenya Police and the DEA officials.
