Dipika Kakar denies rumours that she is planning to retire from acting after becoming a mother; claims that she was misunderstood

Dipika Kakar rose to prominence with the daily soap ‘Sasural Simar Ka,’ but she has largely avoided acting in tv shows in recent years. And now, the actress, who is expecting her first child with husband Shoaib Ibrahim, has startled everyone by announcing her intention to retire from acting.

The news quickly went viral on social media, but the actress now believes her remark was misconstrued. And now the actress has clarifying her comments on quitting acting to ETimes “I just came across this news of me quitting acting as a career. People misinterpreted my prior interview comments that I’d given up acting. So, just to be clear, there is nothing like that. I’ve always wanted to be a housewife (mujhe humesha se housewife banana tha). Shoaib would go to work, and I would prepare breakfast for him and take care of the house. But that doesn’t imply I never want to work again. I’m not going to work today.  But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to work ever again. Ho sakta hai I won’t work for next four-five years or I might soon get offered something very good and I might accept it also. Aisa bhi ho sakta hai that I might feel that I want to give my first four-five years to my kid. All this I can say when I welcome my baby.”

Dipika further revealed that she is an old soul who wants to stay with her baby after giving birth. “I’m saying this because I’m an old soul and I believe that when a baby is born, he or she needs his or her mother (initial years mein Maa ka saath hona zaruri hai).” This is how we’ve seen children raised around us. When we were studying, our mothers would get up early and sit with us. I want to cherish these times with my child. That is the stage I want to go through and enjoy. You are completely correct when you claim that this is the best phase I am now experiencing. “This is my dream life,” she added.

Dipika Kakar got married to Shoaib Ibrahim in 2018. Dipika even converted to Islam after her marriage and changed her name to Faiza, and the pair announced their pregnancy in January 2023. The actress is married for the second time. She was previously married to pilot Raunak Samson, from whom she divorced in 2015.
